Jadine Chou - Chief Safety and Security Officer, Chicago Public Schools

In her current role as Chief Safety and Security Officer for Chicago Public Schools, Jadine Chou oversees the safety operations for 403,000 students in 681 schools across the city. In this role, she and her team are responsible for supporting school administrators in their efforts to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students and staff. She has partnered with colleagues on the Education team to promote a new “holistic safety approach” that incorporates proactive practices to drive calmer school climates and positive student behaviors.

Lizzie Schiffman - Reporter/Producer, DNAinfo Chicago

Lizzie Schiffman is a reporter/producer covering Downtown, the Gold Coast, the Loop, River North, the South Loop and Streeterville for DNAinfo Chicago.

Born and raised in the Chicago area, Schiffman takes after her grandfather, who was the editor of the Forest Park Review. She studied journalism at Northwestern University’s Medill School, where she edited an online newspaper and helped launch a print magazine between reporting stints in Washington, D.C. and New York.

She switched to PR after being named Communications Director of Daley 95, which under her leadership was the first campaign in Illinois to conduct online engagement with supporters. She was named the first director of CityofChicago.org and has led a variety of digital and traditional PR initiatives on behalf of corporate, small business, and non-profit clients.
